Mix together 2 tablespoons granulated sugar and ⅛ teaspoon ground cinnamon in a small bowl then sprinkle onto a small plate. Rub 1 orange wedge round the rim of the glass so the sugar mixture will stick to it.
Dip the rim in the cinnamon sugar till coated all the way round then set the glass aside to dry.
Mocktail
Add 120 milliliters orange juice, 60 milliliters cranberry juice and 2 teaspoons maple syrup to a cocktail shaker with 100 grams ice and shake till chilled then strain to hold back the ice and pour into the glass. Garnish with 1 orange wheel (optional).
Notes
For best results and great flavour, use freshly squeezed orange juice. This way you can adjust the amount of maple syrup depending on how sweet you want your drink to be.We like our orange juice with the pulpy bits left in for texture, but if you prefer it smooth use a strainer to strain them away.
To make a larger quantity
To make enough for 6 servings, mix together the following in a large punch bowl or pitcher, then garnish with orange wheels.
720 mls /24 oz. orange juice
360 mls /12 oz. cranberry juice
4 tablespoons maple syrup
To turn it into popsicles
Fill the popsicle tray till almost full (leave around ½ inch below the rim) and freeze. For a tray of 6 popsicles, mix together:
360 mls /12 oz. orange juice
180 mls /6 oz. cranberry juice
2 tablespoons maple syrup
