Orange mocktail next to ingredients on red stripe cloth.

Celebrating orange season we bring you this delicious cranberry juice mocktail, made with fresh orange juice and maple syrup.

It is so refreshing, not too sweet and slightly tart with a thin cinnamon sugar coating round the rim for a little spice flavour.

As we draw nearer to holiday season we can’t think of a more festive coloured drink the whole family can enjoy.

We believe our cranberry orange mocktail makes such a great non-alcoholic Christmas punch, your guests will be asking for the recipe!.

This recipe shows you how to make it by the glass, pitcher or punch bowl and if you have some left over, we even show you how to turn them into popsicles.

This cranberry mocktail is perfect for breakfast or brunch with our broccoli cheese breakfast muffins or zucchini banana bread, or simply for a quick refreshment with some honey roasted pecans.

You may also want to try our apple cider vinegar with cranberry juice which we created for a deliciously refreshing quick and easy detox.

    Ingredients

These are the ingredients you will need:

Ingredients with cranberry mock tail in sugar rimmed glass.
    • orange juice – freshly squeezed is best for flavour, smooth or with the pulpy bits.
    • cranberry juice – we use sweetened cranberry juice.
    • maple syrup – you may need to adjust the amount of maple syrup depending on how sweet the orange juice is.
    • granulated sugar
    • ground cinnamon

    See recipe card for quantities.

A note on the orange juice

For best results and great flavour, use freshly squeezed orange juice. This way you can adjust the amount of maple syrup depending on how sweet you want your drink to be.

If you can find blood oranges or any other type which are a little red inside, it will add wonderful colour to the drink!

Depending on the colour of the orange juice, the result may be a red or pink mocktail.

We like our orange juice with the pulpy bits left in for texture, but if you prefer it smooth use a strainer to strain them away.

    Helpful tips

The cinnamon sugar rim is a little festive decoration which adds even more flavour to the drink.

Rub a wedge of orange round the rim to moisten it before dipping in the sugar mixture then set it aside to dry.

    Glass with sugared rim.

Next, pour the orange and cranberry juices into a cocktail shaker containing ice, add the maple syrup and shake till the drink is deliciously chilled.

Alternatively you could pour both juices and syrup directly into the glass then mix using a long cocktail mixing spoon.

    To make a larger quantity

This recipe makes cranberry mocktail by the glass but you could also prepare a larger quantity in advance and serve in a pitcher or punch bowl with some ice and orange wheels.

To make enough for 6 servings, mix together the following in a large punch bowl or pitcher, then garnish with orange wheels.

    • 720 mls /24 oz. orange juice
    • 360 mls /12 oz. cranberry juice
    • 4 tablespoons maple syrup

    Turn them into popsicles

Turn this cranberry juice mocktail into popsicles for a super easy dessert or a healthy refreshing treat!

Just fill the popsicle tray till almost full (leave around ½ inch below the rim) and freeze.

For a tray of 6 popsicles, mix together:

    • 360 mls /12 oz. orange juice
    • 180 mls /6 oz. cranberry juice
    • 2 tablespoons maple syrup

    Make ahead and storing

This cranberry juice mocktail can be made ahead and kept covered in the fridge for 1-2 days till ready to serve.
