Vinte Vinte, Portugese premium bean to bar chocolate, made with the finest cacao, enters the UK market.
Vinte Vinte was started in Porto, Portugal by Pedro Martins Araújo, chef, expert in chocolate and certified professional taster.
The story
Pedro travelled throughout the cacao belt, researching extensively and visiting cacao plantations to source the best cacao for high quality artisan chocolate.
On his return to Portugal he launched Vinte Vinte, which means twenty twenty, referring to the cacao belt which lies between the Tropic of Cancer and the Tropic of Capricorn, or 20 degrees north to 20 degrees south of the Equator.
Within a year of the brand’s launch, it received glowing accreditations for the chocolate and its packaging design, including seven awards from the prestigious Academy of Chocolate in 2021.
Our chocolate is made with the finest cacao, harvested from the best producing countries around the world. Crafted with passion and expertise in Porto.

The Vinte Vinte factory is located within the Chocolate Story museum at the World of Wine, in Vila Nova de Gaia. They offer a unique chocolate tasting experience alongside premium quality Port wines.
How is Vinte Vinte different?
Manufacturers of most mass produced industrial chocolate roast their beans at very high temperatures, using vanilla and extra sugar to compensate for the loss of flavour.
Artisan chocolates are enjoyed for their unique flavour profiles based on the kind of cacao used and where in the world it is sourced, the other ingredients used and methods of production.
Vinte Vinte is a premium craft chocolate (or bean-to-bar chocolate) which means every step of the cacao production process is looked at, from knowing the farmers and the terroir, to using ethical means of production.
Like a fine wine, the terroir is responsible for around 50% of the flavour so the packaging on each bar states the cacao’s country of origin.
Even the milk is carefully sourced from the Azores where the free grazing system combined with traditional methods for handling livestock produces a high quality product, contributing to the overall flavour.
The range
The Vinte Vinte range includes four categories of bars: Classic, Intensity, Fusion and Grand Cru.
The Classic is a wonderful creamy collection for chocolate fans with two dark chocolates, one milk and a white.
For the Intensity range, the cacao has been carefully selected from some of the best producing countries in the world, such as Madagascar, Peru and Uganda, each reflecting the best cacao from the country.
I absolutely recommend trying the 100% dark chocolate, an award winning chocolate with strong cacao, plus olive, dried fig and nutty notes. It is made from an extremely rare but protected variety of cacao from Peru.
Fusion combines the chocolate with interesting flavours such as dark with chilli or extra chilli, mint, saltflower, milk chocolate with hazelnut and white with red berries.
The Grand Cru bar is another award winner which I highly recommend, with moderate acidity and notes of ripe apple, sultanas, hazelnut, walnut, almond and cacao.
It is produced annually from a single plantation, single harvest cacao, Finca La Rioja in Mexico – one of the best plantations and cacao producing region of the world.
Vinte Vinte’s range includes bonbons filled with smooth ganache, tins of creamy velvety Classic Truffles, Port Truffles, and a Chocolate and Port Wine pairing box, all of which would make wonderful gifts.
There are also tins of Cocoa Nibs for baking and Cocoa Powder for drinks.
Vinte Vinte is currently available at Cocoa Runners and will soon be available in selected stores across London and the UK.
